LHSI INTERNSHIP
Life Health Science Internship
LHSI Goals and What I hope to learn.
LHSI also known as the Life and Health Sciences Internship, is one of the best opportunities that have been presented to me. Originally I did not exactly understand how much this internship would benefit me but when I took a tour of the internship site I realized that this is an amazing opportunity to meet new people, experience new things and work on improving my skills.

I AM
I am Statement
I am motivated to pursue success with unwavering determination as an honors student. I am a person who strives to reach new intellectual heights with every semester that goes by. I am excited to push the limits of knowledge and creativity in my subject of study and further immerse myself in it over the upcoming semester. Sometimes I push myself too hard and end up causing more harm then good. Next year I strive to not only meet but also surpass the standards set by my mentors and peers through a determined dedication to academic excellence and a thirst for knowledge.
Description & Reflection
An I am statement is a statement where you describe who you are and what you plan to improve or how you can change your current state. An I am statement helps you understand who you are and what your goals are. This really allowed me to truly understand the kind of person I am. Knowing who you are can help you realize what aspirations you hold for the future. The "I Am" statement really empowered me to see not just my failures but also my accomplishments. This allowed me to get a better outlook on life and to attain personal growth.

I WANT TO BECOME
As an honor student, I want to live up to the ideals of growth and greatness in every part of my life as an honors student. I am aware that I need to work on improving my academic performance right now, especially with regard to honing my study techniques. By working hard to improve my learning techniques, I hope to advance from being an average student to an outstanding one. Additionally, I want to build strong bonds with my professors by having conversations with them that advance my knowledge of the material and help me grow as a leader in the honors community. As an honors student, I believe that developing virtues like kindness, tenacity, and diligence is essential to my personal development. As a student who wants to go into PA school, I know that many of these qualities are important and can help me in my future.
When I think about how I want to grow in the future, I try to build a wide range of qualities that help me both personally and academically. I sincerely believe that regardless of one's current level of achievement, everyone needs to constantly develop. I can clear the path to accomplishing my more ambitious objectives, by accepting the idea of growth. I'm determined to incorporate new qualities and ideals into my character as I go throughout my journey in order to become a more refined and successful person. As far as education and life experience go, I want to get better at being communicative and look for chances to interact with others more freely and self-assuredly.
I'm conscious of some behaviors that could cause me to stray from my goals, but I'm determined to break them. To achieve my professional goals, I want to actively look for volunteer opportunities and jobs in medical environments. My ultimate goal is to graduate with honors and pursue my ideal job. I'm determined to improve personally and get priceless experiences throughout my time in college. My goal is to come out of this as a completely changed person, equipped with information and abilities to succeed in my chosen career.
Description & Reflection
The "I Want to Become" statement is a statement about your future goals and aspirations. Followed by the I Am statement, this statement allows you to take a deep dive into your future ad what you plan to do and what changes plan to implement. "I Want to Become" statement does not just talk about the far away future but it talks about growth, values and aspirations that you have already started to implement. A big part of your I want to Become" statement is starting little by little. My "I Want to Become" statement proved to be really insightful. It helped me remember goals that I never took into account. It also helped me figure out what path I want to take and how I want to get there. Because of this statement I know that there are some goals I have to accomplish that are not academic goals but personal goals. These personal goals can lead me to the greater goals. With this flow I will be able to complete my goals in no time!

REFLECTION
The transition from high school to college is a significant one. In my opinion, we minimize our accomplishments in college because we push ourselves to go above and beyond what we should. That was how I felt, at least, while I attempted to navigate the chaotic world of college life. I am still on the pre-PA track and I do not wish to switch or change my major. I do hope that I learn more about the jobs of a PA. A lot of my goals were more habit-based. I had almost two pages of objectives and dreams when I first started, but I knew deep down that I was deluding myself and that I would be unable to finish it. Effective time management was one of my main goals, and I'm happy to report that I've implemented a few strategies to help me reach this objective. My study strategies have changed drastically. I have gone from studying harder to studying smarter. I used to not put in the effort of making flashcards or using different methods of studying, but now that I have started using it, studying for my classes has been a lot easier. Becoming a physician assistant (PA) is not the easiest task, finding ways to study better will help me in the future.
